People can have British nationality based on the following reasons:
Based on date and place of birth
Nationality of the parents at the time of the child’s birth
After the legal period of presence in England
Before January 1983
People who were born in England before this date are automatically considered British citizens, unless their parents were working as diplomats of another country in England.
Between January 1, 1983 and October 1, 2000
If a person was born in England during this historical period, while his parents were married at that time and one of his parents is British, the person will automatically be considered British.
Between October 2, 2000 and April 29, 2006
If a person was born in England during this historical period, while his parents were married at that time and one of his parents is British, the person will automatically be considered British.
April 30, 2006 onwards
These people automatically become British if one of their parents is British or if they are citizens of Ireland and live in England.
Before July 1, 2006
People born during this period are considered British if their parents were officially married at the time of birth.
If one of the parents has European nationality (EU and EA) and at the time of birth, that person is studying, working and living in England, the child born in England is automatically considered British.
A person born in England who lives in England at the time of birth of one of his parents and has Indefinite Leave to Remain or Right of Adobe or Right of Re-admission will automatically become British.
Note: If a British person adopts a person through an official court in England, that person will automatically become British.
People who reside in the UK can apply for a passport in person, and people who are outside the UK should apply for a UK passport online and send their documents by post to HM Passport Office Liverpool.
Passport for children
People under the age of 16 whose father or mother have British nationality and currently live outside the UK and apply for a British passport for the first time (First Passport Application).
The remarkable thing:
Passports issued to children can be used until the expiration date even if the person is over 16 years old.
People over the age of 16 who have never had a British passport or people whose previous passport was issued before January 1, 1994, must apply for a British passport under this group. Adult passports are valid for up to 10 years.
Renewing an expired passport and reissuing a lost or stolen passport
These people must be over 16 years old and can apply for reissuance of their passports if they are damaged or stolen.
